Place: São Pedro de Miragaia Church 3 (located in the ancient area of Miragaia, near de river. The original medieval church was demolished and rebuilt in the seventeenth and eighteent centuries. Inside: it is worth pointing out the gilded woodcarvings from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. In the Confraria Museum, next to the church, there still exists a remarkable triptych, from Dutch school, offered in the beginning of the sixteenth century).

A Visit to the Port Wine cellars

The famous Port Wine was born in the Douro Valleys. The name "port" was given after the beautiful city of Porto where the wine's worldwide exportationtook its place. Visiting the Port Wine cellars is mandatory on any trip to Porto.

Enjoy a typical Portuguese dinner at the cellars of the oldest wine producing and exporting company in Portugal, the Real Companhia Velha, which opens with a warm and refined atmosphere, able to bridge the gap between antiquity and modernity.

1. About Theorbo
Large bass lute, or archlute, used from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century for song accompaniments and for basso continuo parts.

2. About Ricardo Leitão Pedro
Born in Porto in 1990, he was fascinated since childhood by the singer-instrumentalists of Antiquity and their ever-changing incarnations throughout History. Ricardo Leitão Pedro is one of the few musicians today dedicated to the historical practice of singing al liuto, acompanying himself to different early plucked string instruments.
